Howdy! (hm... the margins on this blog skin cut off the right side of the photos. Need to fix that one of these days. Shaeleigh's sleeping head is in this picture...)
Hard to believe it's very nearly back-to-school time. Not to mention that we actually have "back-to-school" activities to accomplish.
In my quest for a kindergarten "rest mat" that was precisely 5/8" thick, four folds and 19" x 45" I ended up ordering online. The mat was $6.45 which made it ridiculous to pay for shipping and so we tossed in a couple of backpacks to make it worth the price.
How cute is that? I am actually glad to have gotten these online as I'm sure we would have otherwise ended up with something commercial. They are a bit cheesy (quality wise) but the horse has 3D hair!
Yee Haw. So while they were sitting here Shaeleigh was trying to untangle something and shouts out "Mommy, I need help!" Chance looks up at her and says, "I'll help you Pinderella." A true Prince Charming.
This is The Laurie Berkner Band. They had a special on Noggin the other night so we've been singing Laurie Berkner the past two weeks.
Chance painted this one. He said, "I painting the Easter Bunny."

Roooooaaaaaaaaarrrr................
Rroooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr..........
Just Kidding.
Same garden, different world.
The kids were asked to bring postcards from Around the World to school last week. The only thing I could find handy were two postcards from Vietnam. When Kenn went to pick them up, Chance's postcard was gone so only Shaeleigh had hers to bring home. She didn't want to carry it so she looks at Chance and says, "Here Chance, you carry it. It's YOUR country."
I think this contraption represents the insides of her mind. Wheels always turning. Always working the situation she is.
And for the final news of the week, Chance's re-adoption paperwork was finalized this week. This was also the paperwork for his name change. He is now legally Chance Augustus Hieu. We have only to re-apply for his Social Security card (since the one we have is listed in his birth name) and then we are officially done with paperwork. Phew, between Shaeleigh and Chance, we have been doing some sort of adoption paperwork almost continually for the past six years.
Until next time..................
